you have more than 10,000 miles on your stock cylinders, you're probably
not far from burning oil (which hurts performance, looks bad, damages valve
guides, and may cause detonation through increased compression and local
hot spots due to thick carbon build-up, as well as interruption of the flame
front). We advocate a process of flattening the base gasket surface with a thin cut on the lathe, boring and honing with torque plates, aligning the bore with the base, and finishing off with a very fine plateau finish. Cylinders are then cleaned with hot soapy water (like everything else inside your motor), dried with clean dry air, and coated with WD-40®. Pistons are then test fitted, rings assembled, and loaded into the cylinder by hand. Now you are ready to install your cylinders into the engine. Here's how:
