Our History:

Johnson Engine Technology is a 2nd generation, family owned and operated business specializing in performance motorcycles (but we do a little bit of everything). Johnson Engine Technology was founded by Bob Johnson in the early 1990’s.  Bob’s history is wide, and his expertise in generating horsepower is vast. Bob’s career included time in the US NAVY as a machinist mate, drag racing (now vintage) muscle cars, drag racing motorcycles (winning National events), and developing the cylinder heads for Aston Martin venture into Group C endurance racing in the 1980s and 1990.  After starting a tuning business out of his garage as a one man operation called Johnson Tuning, his successful reputation turned the business into an established, high clientele company, called Johnson Engine Technology. Bob and his son Robert worked together for over 30 years pursuing the refinement of internal combustion engines, but in 2019 Bob decided to retire... 

In 2016, Robert had to leave full time employment at Johnson Engine Technology due to the rising cost of healthcare.  In 2018 / 2019 his full time job as an Engineering Specialist required 80 to 90 hour work weeks, which resulted in the need to pull back from working part time at Johnson Engine Technology.  After traveling with his family for a road job in San Diego for about a year, Robert decided to reopen Johnson Engine Technology in the fall of 2020. Thus the goal of continuing where his dad left off was rebirthed and getting the most out of an internal combustion engine, specifically Harley-Davidsons, was back in business.
